After 15 years of trudging through the vast vineyard estates of Langhorne Creek, the favourite part of my day was exploring the ancient vineyards on the banks of the Angas and Bremer Rivers. Today as in times gone by, these tradition vineyards relied on these plains flooding over the winter to dive them their only irrigation for the long season ahead. The 2020 season didn't deliver the floods of the past and the vines this year were only a shadow of their normal selves. Delivering deep and concentrated fruit, perfect for making rich and structured wines synonymous with Shiraz in the area.
