Mild dry growing season, timely spring rain, slow ripening, terrific flavour development.. Syrah quite spicy with good concentration, Gamay Noir crunchy, vibrant and perfumed.
TASTING NOTE
Vibrant red with a purple edge. Spicy alluring nose of red and dark fruits, fresh cut violets, dry herb and graphite. Supple, rich, blueberry fruits, earth and forest, wild spice, textural.
WINEMAKING
A mixture of whole bunches and whole berries with some early foot stomping to create some juice to start the fermentation. A combination of plunging and turnovers during fermentation. Pressed and racked to 500 litre casks for 6 months.
