Buckleys Chardonnay (6 Bottles)

WILLIAM BUCKLEY (1780-1856)
Is thought to be the first European settler in the Bellarine Peninsula, having escaped the penal colony in Sorrento. He lived with the native Aboriginal community on the Bellarine Peninsula for 32 years with great affection and respect. Later in life Buckley become a bricklayer and this label and brand pays homage to this remarkable man and the Australian wine region that has now become such a special place.

Tasting Notes:
This wine is the opposite of our namesake, William Buckley. It is clean, traditional and has a beautiful nose (if you do not agree find a photo of the man himself!) It is not a ‘Wild White’ as he was, but a classic and smooth beverage. Enjoy the flavours of all those foods he couldn’t enjoy, almonds, peaches and lemons. Crack a bottle now!

WINE MAKING
This vintage was picked and pressed in whole-bunches, then transferred to temperature controlled fermenters (on solids), to retain the fresh Chardonnay aromatics. Lastly, our lovely Chardonnay spent 18 months maturing in French oak barrels to clarify and produce the final product.
