Blackbilly 2018 Pinot Gris (12 bottles)

Blackbilly wine is produced using the famous vineyards of McLaren Vale and the Fleurieu Peninsula known for wines of richness and diversity. Using modern winemaking and traditional winemaking techniques in our winery, we craft wines of exceptional value and flavour for drinking and enjoyment. 

Colour:  Medium straw green  with a ‘grey’ tint. 

Nose: Pear and lemon curd and a zingy citrus oil note. Hints of brioche and malt add interest. 

Palate: Riper, fig, lemon with good length, moderate phenolic, savoury contribution and good acidity. Nice length and persistence.

Potential: Drink now but short term cellaring will add further complexity and varietal definition and it will develop richer ‘gris’ nuances.

Vintage: 2018 season was exceptionally dry with a good hangtime and low influence from weather.
